EPAULET DOYLE JACKET IN INDIGO JAPANESE COTTON SASHIKO
EPAULET DOYLE JACKET IN INDIGO JAPANESE COTTON SASHIKO
Made in Los Angeles
The Doyle Jacket is our signature casual outerwear piece. Crafted in our popular Japanese cotton Sashiko, this garment dyed jacket is a stunning mixture of a medium blue base tone with a subtle purple accents. It's an absolutely ace match to dark denim and chinos.
Our classic pure cotton Sashiko cloth is woven in Japan for use in martial arts uniforms. Known as Dogi (cloth of the way), this fabric has a thick pique weave with well-defined "rice gain" structure. It allows natural stretch and flexing with movement, it absorbs moisture and stays away from your skin and it gains exceptional tensile strength.. far above a comparable twill weave. Given the large texture of the weave, you can expect a nice patina with wear.
Each Sashiko Doyle begins its journey as a stiff, neutral white garment. It's plunged into an organic reactive dye bath for about 48 hours.. allowing the pigment to entirely soak through its distinctive "rice grain" texture. The soft drape and comfort of this final product cannot be overstated!
The Doyle Jacket
The Doyle is our loving homage to the classic French work jacket. Two open patch pockets sit at the hip. They're doubled against the body, allowing your hands to use them both from the side and from the top. Heavy stitched bar tacks sit at the corners to reinforce them against heavy use. A single exterior pocket and a long interior pocket sit on either sides of the chest. The sleeves close with a functional single cuff, and can be unbuttoned and pushed up your forearms. The rear is single vented and the soft top point collar cuts a rakish profile whether open or closed. The buttons are natural corozo nut, dyed a gorgeous brandy tone.
